About Us

AWPLI is a nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to preventing, reducing and eliminating racial and ethnic inequities among vulnerable, underserved, and uninsured minority communities through several innovative avenues. We provide a variety of wraparound and direct services including but not limited to tobacco control, life and social skills and healthy living training, assessments / surveillance, health screenings, non-conventional to include hypnosis, acupuncture, progressive relaxation, care coordination, coaching and group discussions.

Mission

To provide high quality education, linkage to care, and social services for all communities to build better futures. We support diverse communities in an ever-changing world; through the development of self-advocating skills and the resources that ensure sustainability and improve health outcomes for all people.

AWPLI’s staff and Board of Directors are dedicated to the prevention, reduction, and elimination of health inequities by promoting and improving accessible and affordable health for human, health and social services. AWPLI strategically identifies and utilizes a socio­-ecological and collective impact approach to its high ­quality, culturally competent, and linguistically appropriate services. As demonstrated in the graph to the right by activity, AWPLI’s business is dynamic and diverse. Our staff is trained for the best results for outcomes including organizations such as CADCA National Coalition Academy, Healthy Families America, Rutgers-Tobacco Dependence Program’s CTTS Training, and the CDC’s REACH program.
